I’m the Scrooge

Isn’t this a lovely photo? I think so. I can relate to the Scrooge. It’s not that I don’t want to give; it’s the hassle behind it all. For instance, what do you give a kid who already has way too much stuff? I would hate to have to buy me a Christmas present. I have expensive tastes and love technology. I prefer to buy my own toys. I get a headache just thinking about it, so I’m not. Like I said before, I’m all finished with my shopping.
So, what does the Scrooge like about the holiday season? Time off. Yep. Today is the last day of the semester, and next week is finals week. Lots of grading and unfortunately, lots of meetings. It’s like everyone was trying to squeeze that last meeting in before the end of the semester. I think I have one every day next week. Irritating.
I do love all the parties. December kicks off party season for us. We have 3 this weekend. We missed two parties last weekend because of the move. People do love their holiday parties. I especially love White Elephant Gift Parties. There’s nothing better than wrapping up a really crappy gift and giving it to someone on purpose. It’s great!
