Internet Keeps Me Connected

I’m traveling this week for the TechEd conference in Ontario, CA. I’m not that far away from home, just an hour flight across the desert, but I always feel so much further away. Tonight however, I tuned into the internet to get my fix of home. Both the Diamondbacks and the Suns were playing, and being in Ontario all but sealed the deal that I wasn’t going to be able to watch either. Not so, MLB TV was broadcasting the Dbacks game live online for free and the Suns had a live feed of the game with stats and instant scoring updates. I logged into Dbacks.com to watch the Diamondbacks, as you can see from the photo, and kept an eye on the live feed on the Suns.com site.

The Suns game was pretty exciting, although I know it would have been better to actually see it unfold, but at least I got to see it. I’m still watching the Dbacks. It’s a pretty good game too, 4-5 in the 8th, and the quality of my stream is surprisingly good. It looks better in a smaller window though. So the next time I have to travel, I’ll be sure to log on to the internet to get my taste of home.
