Oh yeah baby! Wonder Coop is in the house!

Okay, I know. I have too much time on my hands. Actually I have very little, but I have this habit of procrastinating when the times get tight. This is how I proscratinate. I develop super heroes on the internet.

Want your own super hero? Check out HeroMaching version 2.5 on the UnderGroundOnline Beta site. It’s a great tool and fun to play with, but it could be so much better. The only way to save your creation is to do a screen capture. Today with all the social networking sites out there, you’d think you would be able to export to every known format possible.

So I was feeling like saving the world today with my whip. You have to smile about that.

Yeah, I know. Still procrastinating. It’s all Laura’s fault. I was minding my own beezewax (what ever that is), about to get to work, and she texted me about mp3tunes.com. I don’t know how I ended up at Last.fm after that, but here’s my playlist anyway.

Procrastinating Again

Yep! It’s good to be really good at things. I’m really good at a lot of things, but I win procrastinating hands down. I think my mom set me up to be a good procrastinator. Yeah, I’m blaming my mother. When I was young, she was a single working parent who arrived home at 5:30pm sharp everyday. I know this because that was the time my siblings and I had to have our chores done by. So we would play outside (foreign concept, I know) all day after school until about 5:15pm. Then we would run home and vacuume, dust and do the dishes before our mother got home. She was always so pleased that we spent so much time cleaning and doing our chores.

So that pretty much rationalizes why I’m good at procrastinating. But in the mean time, I usually discover some pretty cool tools on the web while I’m ~~playing~~ stalling. Today I discovered 3guppies.

My love affair with my Blackberry Pearl continues. Now I’ve got YouTube videos to watch on it. More stuff to do while I’m procrastinating. Anyone can get videos, ringtones and pictures on the their phone, but 3guppies makes it easier by creating a Mobilizer plug-in that lets you easily send media to not just your cell phone, but any cell phone.

With the Mobilizer plug-in installed, right-click on a web page, a media file or hover over a video to send it to any cell phone. Enter the phone number and 3Guppies will format and deliver the media to that cell phone.

It’s really sweet! So the next time I want to show you that interesting video on YouTube I won’t be giving you a link. I’ll be whipping out my Blackberry and showing you on the go.

Finally! A Way to Tame My Music

Of course it might just take until I turn 50 before it uploads all 30gb of my music, but more on that later. I discovered Mp3tunes.com yesterday while reading my Google Reader feeds.

MP3tunes is a MSP (Music Service Provider), providing individuals a personal music locker with unlimited storage online, making it possible to access one’s music collection from any device. MP3tunes.com is the home of the Oboe Locker. MP3tunes also has an independent music store with music available for purchase at MP3tunes.com/store/.

I think Mashable had a post about online storage sites, ONLINE STORAGE: 80+ File Hosting and Sharing Sites. Anyway, I’ve been looking for something to help me control my out of control music collection. I have 4 computers I use pretty regularly: iMac, Macbook Pro, two Windows PCs, one at home and one at school. To add to this music collection mess, I have two kids and a partner who also love music. Cam has a laptop, but the boys have their on log ins on my home PC. So even though they are on the same computer, they have their own music files. So we have a total of 7 iTunes libraries and tons of music.

I know there are other methods for controlling this mess, and I’ve read several good articles about file servers and shared folders, but it was all too confusing to me. Now the way mp3tunes.com works sounds simple enough once it’s all set up. Getting to that point is a test of my patience however. It’s been about 2 1/2 hours just uploading 2Pac, and that’s only the first artist in my list of many. That’s slow, but it could be my computer and wireless connection. I’m sure it will be worth the wait. I can upload unlimited amounts of music and sync it with 3 computers for free. If it works, I can pay for an upgrade ($40 a year) to sync unlimited computers. The good thing about mp3tunes.com is once my music is uploaded, I can listen from any computer no matter where I am. You can even listen to your music on other devices:

I think this is great if you want to unlock your music from your computer. You can even download plugins to play your music on traditional media players like Winamp and iTunes. Not to mention this is a great backup solution for keeping your music safe. I can’t wait until I get it all uploaded. I may have to switch to a wired connection to get it all done. But when it is, no more wondering which computer to use to sync my iPod, looking for the most recent music downloads. They’ll all be the same! WooHoo!

The Pressure is On

Dang! I set up this site with no intentions of blogging here; it’s just a jumping off point for people searching for me. But for some reason I’m feeling the pressure to post. Maybe it’s because I’m getting tired of seeing my daily Twitter posts that are posted here. Ah, who knows. Maybe I just have the itch. I had to take a break from 23 Things so I could get all my grading done, and I’m on summer hiatus from my other blogs. I was just feeling the need to post something, anything, even this boring, say absolutely nothing post. See, there it is. I feel better already.

How about a little photo from my Flickr collection. That’s always fun to look at. This is from a dive bar in Tucson – Tommy’s bar. C and I stopped in on our way over to see Hot Tuna. We had some time to kill, so we thought, “why not?” Boy, what a rude awakening. There were some strange people in that bar. The bartender was very nice and surprisingly cute. But not cute enough to stick around for. We had one drink and ran for the door.

No Direction at ALL!

So, I’ve got this thing all set up with no desire to use this space as a blog. I blog enough elsewhere, so the blog here has no direction. I set up my Twitter account to post my tweets here. That’s kind of cool. I’m still trying to figure this Twitter thing out though. Kind of spooky “following” people I don’t know that well, but it’s kind of interesting too.

I’m off for a weekend in Tucson for my anniversary. Yeah, Tucson is not that great, but a certain someone wants to see a band called Hot Tuna! I’ve never heard of Hot Tuna, and my guess is it’s probably not my thing. Oh, the things we do for love. lol.

Tucson, here we come!
